So, I've redone my homepage. The old one was a little (read: very) on the boring side. Plus this one reminds me of Tetris, and I dig Tetris. Just sayin'.
It also wasn't a particularly "findable" website, from a search engine perspective, and that was doing me no favors.
You'll notice I didn't say "ess eeh oh" there. The term has been way too watered-down by cold-calling marketers promising "first result on Google" by massaging mystical oils of unknown origin into your website's pixels, without going to the trouble of details like "having a good website." If you're interested in knowing the way things should be, check out Aaron Walter's Building Findable Websites.
This also gave me a chance to play around with Microformats, which I've gotten really into lately—a semantics-based method of bridging the gap between websites and desktop apps. You can see them in action by clicking on the "add to address" book link on the right side of the homepage.
Anyway, leave a comment and let me know what you think of the (admittedly scant-looking) changes!
